SCHOOL CALENDAR FOR 2012-2013

Five Inclement Weather Days

• CHANGE: School will be in session on January 21, 2013 (Martin Luther King Jr.’s Day) and on February 18 and 19, 2013 (Winter Recess) due to the three school closing in November 2012.
• If more school closings occur during the rest of the school year the plan for makeup days will be:

o       All days lost before March 28, 2013 will be made up over the Spring Break starting with the Friday after Easter and working back to the day before Easter Monday:

§         Four days total: 4/5, 4/4, 4/3, 4/2 in order

o       Any more days needed will be added on to June:

§         Six days total: 6/21, 6/24, 6/25, 6/26, 6/27, 6/28 in order

• This calendar provides for 180 instructional days and 5 emergency closing days.
• There are 3 Teacher In-Service Days
• Winter and spring recess dates are tentative.  These recess dates may be granted or adjusted upon the use of emergency days prior to each of these recess periods.
• If some/all snow days are not used, the date for graduation will be moved back.
• Individuals are advised to consider special travel insurance as appropriate regarding the winter and spring recess periods.
• The above calendars, along with any stated provisions for days off, are subject to change due to circumstances at any time with board approval.
